Dr D. K. Yadava, Deputy Director General (Crop Sciences), ICAR, visited ICAR–National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru, today. He was warmly welcomed by Dr. T. Venkatesan, Director (A), ICAR-NBAIR, in the presence of scientists, staff and students of the Institute.

During his interaction with the scientists and staff, Dr. Yadava emphasized the optimum utilization of institutional resources to generate measurable and farmer-oriented outcomes. He stressed the importance of adopting a systematic, target-oriented and outcome-driven approach in research, with clearly defined deliverables and tangible benefits to the farming community.
He further encouraged scientists to make effective use of digital platforms for documenting and disseminating their research achievements, thereby enhancing the visibility and outreach of scientific work to a wider audience. His interaction with the staff and students was highly motivating and provided valuable guidance towards strengthening research impact and contributing more effectively to the needs of the farming community.

As part of the visit, Dr Yadava participated in a ceremonial tree plantation and visited key facilities of ICAR-NBAIR, including the National Insect Museum (NIM), Live Insect Repository Unit (LIRU), and Insect Biosafety Laboratory (IBSL-2). He appreciated the significant research activities being undertaken by the Bureau.
Dr T. Venkatesan briefed the DDG on the major research, technology development and outreach activities of the Institute.
The visit concluded with a vote of thanks and expression of sincere gratitude by the Director, ICAR-NBAIR, for the valuable guidance and encouragement extended by the DDG (CS).
