ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, commenced the Swachhta Hi Seva 2026 campaign today as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The fortnight-long campaign will continue until 2 October 2026, with a series of cleanliness, awareness and community outreach activities aimed at promoting a culture of cleanliness and responsible waste management.
As part of the opening-day activities, Swachhta Hi Seva banners were displayed at the main office of ICAR-CRIDA, Bhuvan Research Farm and Varun Research Farm, marking the commencement of the campaign.

Dr V. K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA, administered the Swachhta Pledge to the institute’s employees and called upon them to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily routine. He also urged the employees to contribute towards maintaining the institute premises clean and hygienic throughout the year, reinforcing the importance of sustained efforts towards cleanliness.
During the fortnight, a range of activities, including awareness programmes, cleanliness drives, debate competitions and ‘Waste to Wealth’ initiatives, will be organised at the ICAR-CRIDA main office, as well as under the Tribal Sub Plan (TSP), Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP), Farmers FIRST Programme and KVK-adopted villages across different mandals.

These activities are aimed at creating greater awareness about cleanliness, sanitation and responsible waste management among the farming community and encouraging their active participation in building cleaner and healthier rural communities.
