ICAR–National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms, Mau, Uttar Pradesh organised a farmer awareness and extension programme at Sahjadpur village of Pardaha Block, Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, under the nationwide Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026 today. The programme aimed to create awareness among farmers on the vital role of beneficial microorganisms in improving soil fertility, enhancing crop productivity, and promoting environmental sustainability through sustainable agricultural practices.
During the programme, scientists highlighted the importance of integrated nutrient management, regular soil health monitoring through soil testing, and the use of beneficial microbial technologies for improving nutrient availability and crop production. The interactive sessions enabled direct engagement between scientists and farmers, facilitating knowledge exchange and addressing farmers’ queries related to sustainable farming practices.

As part of the technology dissemination initiative, participating farmers were provided with Bio-Phos, a microbial bioformulation developed by ICAR-NBAIM. Scientists explained the advantages of the product, particularly its role in phosphorus solubilization and enhancing nutrient uptake efficiency in crops.
The programme successfully promoted eco-friendly agricultural technologies and emphasized the significance of beneficial microorganisms in sustainable agriculture and long-term enhancement of farm productivity.
