Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management) laid the foundation stone of the administrative building of KVK West Tripura, Belbari today.
Dr. Chaudhari in his address apprised the farmers about the significance and role played by the KVKs in the livelihood improvement of the farming community.
Dr. V. K. Mishra Director, ICAR RC NEHR urged the farmers to adopt improved technologies for farming.
Various inputs namely spray machine, water can, water pump, fishing net, vegetable seeds, rice seeds, chicks and fruit plants etc. were distributed among the farmers.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Lalit Garnayak, Director of Research, CAU, Dr. Ratan Saha, Dean, College of Fisheries, Dr. T. K. Maity, Principal, College of Agriculture, Shri. Manuj Kumar, Executive Engineer, CPWD (Civil) and Dr. Biswajit Das, Head (I/C), ICAR Tripura Centre, Shri Biplob Debbarma, Chairperson, Rasha Dasarathnagar Panchayat, Agriculture officers from Deptt. of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Tripura, Scientists of ICAR Tripura Centre, Heads from other KVKs in Tripura and officials from line organizations.
A farmers’ scientists interaction meet-cum-input distribution programme was also organized where around 150 farmers from different parts of the West Tripura district were present.
An exhibition was also organized where various technologies developed at ICAR Tripura Centre, technologies which are being disseminated by KVK West Tripura and produce and products of local FPO and framers were displayed.
Earlier, Dr. Biswajit Das delivered welcome address.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mandira Chakraborti, Head, KVK, West Tripura.
