Golden Jubilee Celebration of KVKs

KVK Khordha, ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar organized a Special function to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the establishment of the KVKs here today.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute Kolkata graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He lauded the efforts of all KVK staff for their outstanding service to the farming community. He underlined the necessity for KVKs to act as district agri-tech epicentres.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. P. Das, Director (I/c), ICAR-CIFA highlighted the role of KVK in the development of farming community, particularly the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes in Khordha district.

Padmashri Batakrushna Shaoo was felicitated on this special occasion. Besides, six progressive farmers in the field of Integrated Fish Farming, Fish seed and vegetable production and three women farmers producing millet value added products, vermicompost were also felicitated to mark the occasion of Golden Jubilee of KVKs.

A farm visit of KVK was also organised to show the latest technologies to the farmers and dignitaries on this occasion.
