15th – 17th February 2023, Hyderabad
ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad organized a three-day Skill Development Programme on “Value Addition of Millets for Enhancing Nutritional Security” from 15-17th February 2023 at ICAR-CRIDA for SCSP Women Farmers under SC Sub Plan.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. V.K. Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA. Dr. Singh during his valedictory address stressed the importance of millet for enhancing nutritional security and its value addition. He also highlighted the importance of group-based approaches for improving the income of farmers.
Exposure visits were conducted for the women farmers to AICRP on Home Science and Millet Production & Incubation Center (MPIC), PJTSAU, Hyderabad & Millet Production & Incubation Center (MPIC), PJTSAU, where hands-on training was provided to the trainees.
The trainees also visited Hayathnagar Research Farm, where they were exposed to different dryland agricultural technologies such as livestock, horticulture components and dragon fruit cultivation,
Twenty SC women farmers from Mallampet Village, Kotapally Mandal, Mancherial district, Telangana State. attended the training program.
