Awareness Campaign on ‘Efficient and Balanced Use of Fertilizers including Nano-Fertilizers on 29.08.2022

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ranga Reddy District, of ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad organized an awareness programme on “Efficient and balanced use of fertilizers including nano fertilizers” as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahostav at Panchayath Office, Mangalpally Village, Amangal Mandal today.

Dr. V.K.Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA emphasized on  challenges in agriculture pertaining to major, secondary and micronutrients and their depletion in the soil over the period.  He said Nutrients plays major role in improving crop yield in different agro climatic conditions.

 Dr.K. Sammi Reddy, Head, Department of Resource Management, ICAR-CRIDA highlighted the importance of organic carbon in the soil and use of green manure crops, concepts of waste to wealth. He said site specific balanced use of fertilizers through integrating both inorganic & organic fertilizers, applying the right amount of fertilizer in the right time, with right method of application gives higher yields with improved fertilizer use efficiency.

Dr. DBV Ramana, OIC, KVK, briefed about the impact of indiscriminate use of chemicals on fodder and animal health.
