Kota, 28 August 2016.
The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Radha Mohan Singh, facilitated 22 progressive farmers from 10 villages, adopted by the scientists of IISWC Kota Centre, under ‘Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav’ (MGMG) programme on ‘Kisan Diwas’ at Indian Institute of Soil Science and Water Conservation (IISWC), Research Centre Kota. The Union Minister talked about necessity and potential benefits of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY), Soil-Health Card Programme, MGMG and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY), and stressed upon urgency to focus on developing live stock productivity with a preference on indigenous breeds. He advised the scientists to hold regular meetings with other regional research development and extension departments and keep the political leaders informed about their achievements.


Dr P.K. Mishra (Director,IISWC) briefed about the activities of Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, and about the recent achievement of the Centre and current regional issues.
The 198 farmers and about 60 representatives from Kota Agricultural University, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, District Line Department etc participated.
