ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes organised an exposure session on grape farming at its research farm in Pune for the industry professionals of John Deere India Pvt. Ltd. The event focused on demonstrating the major field operations including grafting, pruning, agrochemical spraying, and harvesting through hands-on practical exercises.

In his inaugural address, Dr Kaushik Banerjee, Director, ICAR-NRCG, introduced grape as a functional food, and highlighted its commercial significance for the country.
The event concluded with a panel discussion on prospects of Indian grape industry including domestic and export market opportunities, innovations in farm mechanization, affordable technologies for grape production systems, and ICAR-NRCG’s role in promoting grape cultivation in non-traditional areas of the country.
The participants were impressed by ICAR-NRCG's leadership in controlling pesticide residues in grapes, as evidenced by the export consignments' 99.3% MRL compliance in 2025.

A total of 120 participants comprising 65 female and 55 male professionals attended the programme.
