The 39th Foundation Day of the ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner, Rajasthan was celebrated here today.

The Chief Guest, Dr. M.S. Sahni, Former Director, ICAR-NRC on Camel, Bikaner stated that the Nutraceutical value of Camel is of human interest. He also stressed on the need to carry the research forward in the pioneering area with coordinated efforts for better economic utility of the animal.
Dr. G.P. Singh, Former Director, ICAR-NRC on Camel, Bikaner stated that the myths about the use of Camel Milk in the society need to be resolved to have a better capture of Camel Milk market.
The need for taking the research efforts further on the medicinal utility of Camel Milk to popularize it amongst the people across the country was stressed by Dr. N.V. Patil, Former Director, ICAR-NRC on Camel, Bikaner.
Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, ICAR-NRC on Camel, Bikaner highlighted the Centre’s research achievements and activities during the past Years.
The Centre also held an Interactive Meet with Stakeholders on “Challenges in Camel Product Processing and Marketing” that was aimed at providing a platform for discussing the potential of Camel-based products, viz., Milk, Hair / Wool, Manure, Urine, Hide / Skin and Bones. These can provide multiple opportunities to the farmers to sell the primary products to the other stakeholders for processing & value-addition.
