Brainstorming Session on “Nutraceutical and Medicinal Potential of Non-Bovine Milk” organized

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Camel, Bikaner, Rajasthan organized the Round-Table Conference on “Harnessing Full Nutraceutical Potential of Non-Bovine Milk” here today.

Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Srivastava, Chairman, Agricultural Scientists’ Recruitment Board, New Delhi initiated the Round Table Conference by flagging-off the issues related to the contribution and potential of the Non-Bovine Milk from Sheep, Goat, Camel, Horse, Yak and Mithun in the country. He stressed on the need for spreading the awareness about the nutraceutical and therapeutic properties of the Non-Bovine Milk for the benefits of the consumers and Camel rearers.

Dr. Artabandhu Sahoo, Director, ICAR-NRC on Camel, Bikaner stated that studies conducted in collaboration with the Medical Institutions have proved that Camel Milk has the medicinal value in the management of the various human diseases like Diabetes, Autism and Tuberculosis, etc.

The dignitaries released the Camel Milk Products developed by the Centre, viz., Fermented Camel Milk (CamYo) in 5 different flavors and Millet-based Camel Milk Products as Rabri, Drink & Shakes during the occasion.

The Camel Demonstration Point was inaugurated and Camel Statue was also unveiled for the Tourists’ attraction on the occasion.

The Scientists, Researchers and Entrepreneurs from the various Institutions across the country participated in the event.
