The ICAR-National Institute of Natural Fibre Engineering & Technology, Kolkata organized an “Awareness-cum-Distribution Programme of ICAR-NINFET-Sathi (A Jute Retting Accelerator) and other Agricultural Inputs to 350 Scheduled Caste Farmers of Agrani FPO under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan (SCSP)” from 26th to 27th June, 2021.

The programme was organized in collaboration with the ICAR-Central Institute of Subtropical Horticulture, Krishi Vigyan Kendra & Regional Research Station, Malda.
In his address, Dr. D.B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata emphasized on the Government’s initiative for the upliftment of Scheduled Caste communities through the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan Scheme. He also distributed the ICAR-NINFET-Sathi Retting Accelerator and Jute Seed Drills to the Jute Farmers.

Dr. Sukumar Mandi, Joint Director, Directorate of Jute Development & Dr. Debashis Ghosh, Regional Manager, JCI, Malda Region underlined the ICAR-NINFET-Sathi’s role in Jute Cultivation for the Jute Farmers’ economic benefits.
The programme was organized as a part of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
