ICAR-CRIJAF celebrates 16th Parthenium Awareness Week - 2021

To apprise the farmers about the harmful effects of the Parthenium and its management, the ICAR-Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore, Kolkata organized the “Parthenium Awareness Week” from 16th to 22nd August, 2021.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, Barrackpore, Kolkata urged the scientists and staff members to observe the Week with full involvement and dedication. He also stressed on acting throughout the year with an aim to eradicate the Parthenium from the human habitat and develop a viable methodology for possible composting without affecting the health.

The Institute organized a Farmers’ Awareness Camp in the Village Kalsara, Kadambagachi, Barasat - I Block, North 24 Paraganas.

The occasion also held a Webinar on “Parthenium - Problems and Management” during the occasion.
