The Prime Minister released the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme today from Hooghly, West Bengal, transferring over ₹18,880 crore to more than 9.44 crore farmers, including 2.18 crore women farmers, through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Since its launch in 2019, the scheme has disbursed over ₹4.46 lakh crore, making PM-KISAN one of the world's largest DBT initiatives. The occasion was celebrated nationwide as PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas.
To mark the event, the live telecast of the Prime Minister's address and fund release programme was organized across ICAR institutes, research centres, and Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) throughout the country, with active participation of scientists, extension personnel, farmers, farm women, students, and other stakeholders, reaffirming ICAR's commitment to farmer outreach and agricultural development.
ICAR–Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun
ICAR–Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Dehradun organized a farmers' awareness and outreach programme today to mark the release of the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) by the Prime Minister of India. Conducted under the guidance of Dr B. P. Bhatt, Director, the programme witnessed the participation of 112 farmers, along with scientists, technical officers, staff members and other stakeholders.
Participants joined the live telecast of the Prime Minister's address and the nationwide PM-KISAN fund release. The programme highlighted the significance of PM-KISAN in strengthening farmers' income security and promoting sustainable agriculture. Shri Bhuvan Vikram Dobhal, Vice Chairman (Minister of State Rank), Herbal Advisory Committee, Government of Uttarakhand, attended as the Chief Guest and emphasized the role of PM-KISAN and modern agricultural technologies in improving farmers' livelihoods.

Expert lectures were delivered on balanced fertilizer use and natural farming, focusing on soil health, efficient nutrient management, eco-friendly farming practices and long-term sustainability. A drone demonstration showcased the application of drone technology for precision spraying, crop monitoring and efficient farm management. The programme also featured an interactive Farmer–Scientist interaction session on soil and water conservation, climate-resilient agriculture, natural farming and government support schemes, encouraging farmers to adopt scientific resource-management practices for sustainable agricultural development.
ICAR–National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru
ICAR–National Bureau of Agricultural Insect Resources, Bengaluru organized the live webcast of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) programme today at its Hebbal campus. The programme was attended by Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), in the presence of Dr T. Venkatesan, Director, ICAR-NBAIR.
The programme highlighted the importance of PM-KISAN in strengthening farmers' livelihoods through Direct Benefit Transfer and emphasized the adoption of eco-friendly pest management, biological control technologies, organic farming and sustainable agricultural practices. As part of the event, biocontrol inputs were distributed to farmers from Davangere and Chitradurga districts of Karnataka under the Development Action Plan for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (DAPSC & ST), promoting environmentally sustainable crop protection and reducing dependence on chemical pesticides.
A total of 400 participants, including 150 farmers, students and researchers, witnessed the live telecast of the Prime Minister's address and the release of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment.
ICAR–Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad
ICAR–Indian Institute of Millets Research, Hyderabad celebrated PM-Kisan Utsav Diwas today to mark the release of the 23rd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme. Addressing the gathering, Dr C. Tara Satyavathi, Director, ICAR-IIMR, highlighted the significance of PM-KISAN in providing timely financial assistance to farmers and encouraged them to invest in improved technologies, quality seeds, scientific crop management and climate-resilient farming. She also emphasized the role of millet cultivation in promoting sustainable agriculture, nutritional security and enhanced farm incomes.
On the occasion, ICAR-IIMR exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dravida Farmers Producer Company Limited (DFPCL), Sangareddy, Telangana, to strengthen collaboration on millet-based value chains, seed production, processing, value addition, entrepreneurship development and market linkages, thereby enhancing sustainable livelihood opportunities for farmers. The programme also featured interactions between farmers and experts on millet cultivation, value addition and agribusiness opportunities.

Farmers, Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) members, women farmers and rural youth associated with ICAR-IIMR promoted FPOs across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka participated in the live streaming of the Prime Minister's address and the release of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment, reaffirming their commitment to sustainable agriculture, farmer welfare and resilient rural livelihoods.
ICAR–Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram, Andaman & Nicobar Islands
ICAR–Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Sri Vijaya Puram, along with KVK South Andaman, KVK North & Middle Andaman, KVK Nicobar, and the ICAR-CIARI Regional Station, Minicoy (Lakshadweep), organized PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas today in convergence with Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026.
Participants joined the live telecast of the Prime Minister's release of the 23rd instalment of the PM-KISAN Scheme and were sensitized on sustainable agricultural practices, including balanced fertilizer use, Soil Health Cards, integrated nutrient management, biofertilizers, scientific paddy cultivation, integrated pest management, and organic and natural farming.

The programme also highlighted the objectives of PM-KISAN and the Khet Bachao Abhiyan, emphasizing soil health conservation, judicious fertilizer use and climate-resilient agriculture. Interactive sessions enabled farmers to discuss agricultural challenges and receive technical guidance from experts. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Jai Sunder, Director (Act.), ICAR-CIARI.
A total of 264 farmers and stakeholders from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and 32 participants from Minicoy, Lakshadweep attended the programme.
ICAR Research Complex for North Eastern Hill Region, Umiam
ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ri Bhoi and the Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, organized the live streaming of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today.
The event highlighted the significance of the PM-KISAN Scheme in strengthening farmers' livelihoods and promoting agricultural development. Dignitaries emphasized the importance of direct marketing of agricultural produce, greater awareness of farmer-centric government schemes, convergence of flagship programmes such as PMFBY, PM-KUSUM, and Per Drop More Crop, and enhanced collaboration among farmers, state departments and ICAR institutions for sustainable agricultural growth in the North Eastern Region.
The programme was attended by Shri Timothy D Shira, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Government of Meghalaya, Dr G. Kadirvel, Director, ICAR RC NEH, Dr A. K. Mohanty, Director, ICAR-ATARI Zone VII, and other senior officials.
The programme witnessed the participation of 172 farmers, along with state officials and ICAR staff.
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, along with its Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), organized the live webcast of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today.
The programme highlighted the significance of PM-KISAN in supporting small and marginal farmers and featured awareness sessions on PM Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana, Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, Kharif crop planning, natural farming, and soil test-based balanced fertilization under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026.

Participants were also sensitized on crop and livestock production technologies, biofertilizers, and agricultural mechanization. An interactive Farmer–Scientist session enabled participants to discuss dryland agriculture and sustainable farming practices, reinforcing the importance of scientific and climate-resilient agriculture for enhanced productivity and farmer welfare.
A total of 263 participants, including farmers, scientists, KVK staff, and students of the IARI Mega University Hyderabad Hub, attended the programme and witnessed the Prime Minister's address.

ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi organized a live viewing of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme and a Farmers Sangoshti today. Participants witnessed the live telecast of the Prime Minister's address and the release of ₹18,880 crore to over 9.44 crore farmers under the PM-KISAN Scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

The programme was graced by Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, as the Chief Guest. Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Minister of State for Cooperation, attended the programme organized at ICAR-IARI Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Shikohpur, Gurugram.

In his presidential address, Dr M. L. Jat, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, highlighted the importance of the Khet Bachao Abhiyan in promoting soil health, environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture, and congratulated ICAR-IARI for attaining the top position in the global agricultural rankings.
The programme was also attended by Dr Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-IARI, along with Joint Directors, Project Directors, scientists, farmers, students, officers and staff.

Technical sessions were organized on Integrated Farming Systems, millet production technologies, advanced vegetable production, seed production, integrated pest management in Kharif crops, disease management, fruit production technologies, and integrated nutrient management, encouraging farmers to adopt modern scientific and climate-resilient agricultural practices for enhanced productivity and sustainable livelihoods.

ICAR–Central Inland Fisheries Research Institute, Barrackpore organized PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas in conjunction with the Khet Bachao Abhiyan today, featuring the live telecast of the release of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment by the Prime Minister. The programme was graced by Shri Shantanu Thakur, Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, while Dr Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR-CIFRI, welcomed the participants and highlighted the role of flagship government initiatives, including PM-KISAN, PMMSY, PMFBY, RWBCIS, Digital Agriculture Mission (AgriStack), National Mission on Natural Farming, and PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, in strengthening farmers' and fishers' livelihoods.

Prior to the live telecast, an awareness programme under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan was organized on the theme "Healthy Soil, Healthy Crops, Prosperous Farmers," focusing on soil health, soil test-based nutrient management, integrated nutrient management, balanced fertilizer use, and natural farming practices. The programme also promoted climate-resilient agriculture, integrated farming systems, efficient water use, and scientific fisheries management.
A total of 286 farmers, fishers, and stakeholders from West Bengal and Bihar participated in the programme, interacting with experts and reaffirming the importance of scientific interventions, sustainable agriculture, and institutional support for resilient rural livelihoods.
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore
ICAR–Central Research Institute for Jute and Allied Fibres, Barrackpore, along with its Krishi Vigyan Kendra (North 24 Parganas Additional), organized PM-KISAN Utsav 2026 today to mark the release of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment. More than 200 farmers and farm women witnessed the live telecast of the Prime Minister's address, while the programme recorded the participation of over 250 participants, including farmers, farm women, SHG members, state government officials, media representatives and other stakeholders.

The programme was graced by Dr Sukanta Majumdar, Union Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region, Government of India, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Kaustav Bagchi, MLA, Barrackpore, as the Guest of Honour.
Dr Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR-CRIJAF, welcomed the participants and highlighted the institute's initiatives for farmers, SHGs and FPOs, while emphasizing the importance of PM-KISAN in supporting small and marginal farmers.

During the programme, certificates, farm inputs and small agricultural implements were distributed to farm women and progressive farmers, and participants were encouraged to adopt improved technologies and women-centric agricultural practices for sustainable livelihood enhancement.
ICAR–Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar
ICAR–Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with KVK Khordha, organized PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas today, with the participation of around 250 farmers, farm women and stakeholders. The programme commenced with address from Dr S. S. Giri, Director In-charge, ICAR-CIFA, who highlighted the importance of farmer-centric schemes and institutional support for strengthening agricultural and aquaculture-based livelihoods.

Technical sessions were delivered by Mr Gautam Parida, Assistant Agriculture Officer, Department of Agriculture & Farmers' Empowerment, Government of Odisha, Dr Nakul Mallick, Retired Seed Certification Officer, and Dr S. N. Sethi, covering government schemes, biofertilizers, sustainable farming practices and the significance of the Khet Bachao Abhiyan in promoting soil health and sustainable crop management. The programme also included a farmer interaction session followed by the live streaming of the Prime Minister's address and the release of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment.
ICAR–Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur
ICAR–Directorate of Cashew Research, Puttur, Karnataka organized the live webcast of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today, with the participation of 100 farmers from Kokkada, Uppinangady, Kadaba and Sullia taluks, along with ICAR-DCR staff.
The programme was integrated with a district-level training on Cashew Production and Post-Harvest Technologies, organized in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and sponsored by RKVY-RAFTAAR, Government of Karnataka.

Technical sessions were conducted on cashew production, post-harvest management, value addition and agribusiness opportunities. Farmers were sensitized on balanced nutrient management under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan, sustainable cashew cultivation, and value addition through cashew apple products. The programme also included exposure visits to the Cashew Museum, Drone Technology Laboratory, and high-density planting demonstrations.
During the valedictory session, Dr T. N. Raviprasad, Director-in-Charge, ICAR-DCR, interacted with farmers on improved cashew varieties, pest management, post-harvest utilization and government support schemes, promoting scientific and sustainable cashew cultivation.
ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna
ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna organized the live telecast of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme and Khet Bachao Abhiyan today, with the participation of more than 459 participants, including 125 women farmers. The programme was graced by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lallan Singh), Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Panchayati Raj, as the Chief Guest, Shri Ramnath Thakur, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, as the Guest of Honour, and Dr R. K. Singh, Assistant Director General (Extension), ICAR, as the Special Guest.
Dr Anup Das, Director, ICAR-RCER, highlighted the institute's initiatives under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan for promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.

The programme commenced with a tree plantation drive and field visits to demonstrations on green manuring, natural farming, integrated farming systems, fisheries and livestock, followed by the live telecast of the Prime Minister's address. Technical sessions focused on balanced fertilizer use, integrated nutrient management, direct-seeded rice, water-saving technologies, natural farming, green manuring and integrated farming systems.
During the programme, the dignitaries released 'Swarna Vishist', a high-yielding, early-maturing lablab bean variety developed by ICAR-RCER. Farmers also visited an exhibition on sustainable agricultural technologies and received seeds of drought-tolerant rice varieties and improved summer vegetable crops, reinforcing the institute's commitment to enhancing soil health, farm productivity and farmers' livelihoods.
ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai
ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education, Mumbai, along with its Centres at Kolkata, Motipur, Rohtak, Powarkheda, Kakinada, and the Freshwater Farm at Balabhadrapuram, organized the live telecast of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr N. P. Sahu, Director, ICAR-CIFE, and was graced by Shri Chirag Paswan, Union Minister of Food Processing Industries, and Shri Kamlesh Paswan, Minister of State for Rural Development.
The dignitaries highlighted the significance of PM-KISAN in strengthening farmers' livelihoods and emphasized the growing role of the fisheries sector in employment generation, value addition, entrepreneurship and economic growth.

Participants were also sensitized on Khet Bachao Abhiyan, balanced fertilizer use, and flagship initiatives including the Digital Agriculture Mission, National Mission on Natural Farming, National Pulses Mission, Restructured Weather-Based Crop Insurance Scheme, and Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana. The programme reaffirmed ICAR-CIFE's commitment to promoting sustainable agriculture and fisheries through research, education, extension and capacity building.
The programme witnessed the participation of around 305 participants, including PM-KISAN beneficiary farmers, fish farmers, scientists, faculty members, students and other stakeholders.
ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, Nagaland
ICAR–National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema organized the live webcast of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today, with the participation of farmers, Self-Help Group (SHG) members and other stakeholders.
Dr Girish Patil, Director, ICAR-NRCM, briefed the participants on the benefits of the PM-KISAN Scheme and various flagship programmes of the Government of India aimed at improving farmers' livelihoods and promoting rural development.

Participants also viewed the live address of the Prime Minister and gained awareness about government initiatives supporting farmer welfare and sustainable rural development.
ICAR–Mahatma Gandhi Integrated Farming Research Institute, Motihari, Bihar
ICAR–Mahatma Gandhi Integrated Farming Research Institute, Motihari, Bihar organized the live telecast of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today, with the participation of 103 participants, including 92 farmers, extension personnel and other stakeholders. Participants witnessed the live address of the Prime Minister and the release of financial assistance under the PM-KISAN Scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
During the programme, Dr S. K. Singh highlighted the significance of the PM-KISAN Scheme in strengthening farmers' capacity to invest in agriculture and improving their livelihoods.

Scientists and officials emphasized the importance of scientific farming practices, institutional support and government welfare schemes for enhancing farm productivity, profitability and resilience.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr S. K. Purbey and concluded with a commitment to promoting improved agricultural technologies, greater access to government schemes and sustainable agricultural development in the region.
ICAR–Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar
ICAR–Indian Institute of Water Management, Bhubaneswar organized the live streaming of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme and a Scientist–Farmer Interaction on 20 June 2026.
Dr R. K. Panda, Director (I/c), ICAR-IIWM, addressed the participants and encouraged farmers to utilize PM-KISAN assistance for procuring quality agricultural inputs.

Scientists sensitized farmers on balanced fertilizer use, the Khet Bachao Abhiyan, soil fertility restoration through biofertilizers, farmyard manure, vermicompost, natural and organic farming, and the use of Sesbania (Dhaincha), nano-urea and nano-DAP for sustainable nutrient management. The programme concluded with an interactive Farmer–Scientist session addressing farmers' queries on soil health, fertilizer management and sustainable agricultural practices.
The programme was attended by over 150 participants, including about 120 farmers from more than 15 adopted villages of Cuttack, Puri and Khordha districts.
ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-II, Jodhpur
ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-II, Jodhpur coordinated PM-KISAN Utsav and Khet Bachao Abhiyan programmes across all 66 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) in Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi today to mark the release of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment.
The KVKs organized live viewing of the Prime Minister's address and conducted awareness programmes on balanced fertilizer use, soil test-based nutrient management, efficient fertilizer application, natural farming, green manuring and need-based plant protection practices.

A total of 6,022 farmers and 592 other participants attended the programmes across 47 KVKs in Rajasthan, while 2,953 farmers and 149 other participants participated through 18 KVKs in Haryana. In Delhi, 310 farmers and 17 other participants attended the programme.
The events were graced by several dignitaries, including Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers' Welfare, Shri Krishna Pal Gurjar, Union Minister of State for Cooperation, Shri C. R. Chaudhary, Chairman, Rajasthan Kisan Aayog, Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly and other public representatives, reinforcing the commitment to farmer welfare, sustainable agriculture and soil health management.
ICAR–Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune
ICAR–Directorate of Floricultural Research, Pune organized Scientists–Farmers' Interface Programmes on Floriculture in conjunction with the live streaming of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today.
The programmes were conducted at the ICAR-DFR campus, Hadapsar, Village Ozar (Junnar), Pune, and ICAR–National Institute for Research on Commercial Agriculture, Rajahmundry, through the ICAR-DFR Regional Station, Kadiyam, benefiting a total of 347 participants.

During the programmes, scientists disseminated improved floriculture production technologies, scientific cultivation and crop management practices, and sustainable production methods, while addressing farmers' queries through interactive sessions.
The events strengthened scientist–farmer linkages, promoted the adoption of scientific floriculture technologies, and enhanced awareness of government initiatives under the PM-KISAN Scheme, contributing to improved productivity and farmers' income.
ICAR–National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad
ICAR–National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad facilitated the live viewing of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today for 60 farmers from Bopalle Village, Telkapalle Mandal, Nagarkurnool district, Telangana.
Dr Gopal Lal, Joint Director, and Dr Raman Meenakshi Sundaram, Director, ICAR-NAARM, addressed the farmers on innovative farm management strategies and sustainable agricultural practices.

Prior to the live telecast, farmers visited the institute's farm blocks and received hands-on training on composting, vermicomposting from farm waste, and plant propagation techniques. The programme also recognized the contributions of four innovative farmers through felicitation, while reinforcing awareness about government initiatives, scientific farming practices and sustainable agriculture.
ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur
ICAR–Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur organized the live webcast of the 23rd PM-KISAN instalment release programme today, enabling 288 participants, including PM-KISAN beneficiary farmers, 24 Sarpanches and Up-Sarpanches, scientists, students, staff members and other stakeholders, to witness the Prime Minister's address. The programme was presided over by Dr J. S. Mishra, Director, ICAR-DWR.

The programme highlighted the Government of India's commitment to farmer welfare, sustainable agriculture and the Khet Bachao Abhiyan, with emphasis on natural farming, organic farming, balanced nutrient management and soil health conservation.
As part of the event, Azospirillum and Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria (PSB) biofertilizer packets were distributed to participating farmers to promote balanced fertilizer use, improve soil fertility and encourage sustainable agricultural practices.
