Report on Campaign for Balanced Use of Fertilizers under ICAR-ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad

Under the intensive awareness campaign conducted today by 8 KVKs under ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad, a total of 7 awareness programs were organized covering 250 farmers across major DAP consuming districts. In addition, 2 training programs benefited 104 farmers. Altogether, 455 farmers were reached through direct physical contact and interactions at KVKs, including 101 farmers who visited KVKs and interacted with scientists and experts.

The campaign also achieved extensive digital outreach through WhatsApp, Facebook, X and other social media platforms, reaching 1,07,061 farmers and stakeholders, resulting in a cumulative outreach of 1,07,516 beneficiaries. The campaign effectively promoted awareness on balanced fertilizer use, sustainable agricultural practices and farmer engagement across the region.

Under the intensive balanced fertilizer use campaign conducted today by 72 KVKs under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad, a total of 16 awareness programs and 1 Kisan Ghosti/Field Day were organized across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, benefiting 471 farmers directly. In addition, 4 training programs were conducted covering 203 farmers.

The campaign also included 9 demonstrations on balanced fertilizer use, green manuring and bio-fertilizer promotion. A total of 157 farmers visited KVKs and interacted with scientists and experts, while the overall physical outreach reached 846 farmers.

Through extensive dissemination using WhatsApp, Facebook, X and other digital platforms, the campaign achieved a massive social media outreach of 1,24,564 farmers and stakeholders, taking the cumulative outreach to 1,25,410 beneficiaries across the Zone. The campaign significantly contributed towards promoting balanced nutrient management and sustainable agricultural practices among farming communities.
