A one-day awareness programme on “Balanced Fertilizer Use and Soil Health” was successfully organized in Village Mundera, Block Akola, District Agra by the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Agra, under the Mera Gaon Mera Gaurav initiative.
The programme aimed to strengthen farmers’ knowledge on balanced fertilizer application, soil health management, and the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.
During the programme, experts emphasized the importance of integrating organic fertilizers, particularly in vegetable and fruit cultivation, to sustain soil fertility and ensure long-term productivity. The role of liquid and nano fertilizers in enhancing soil health and improving crop yields was also highlighted.

Speakers underscored the need to reduce excessive dependence on chemical fertilizers and advocated the adoption of Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) practices for maintaining soil health and safeguarding the environment. Discussions also focused on promoting cost-effective agricultural production systems that minimize input costs while sustaining productivity.
The programme served as an effective platform for knowledge dissemination and farmer engagement, encouraging the adoption of balanced nutrient management practices and paving the way for more sustainable and economically viable agriculture.
A total of 72 farmers participated in the programme, including 18 men and 54 women, demonstrating active community involvement and growing awareness toward improved farming techniques.
