The ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region (ICAR-RCER), Patna organized a three day Agri-Expo-2012 on the ground of Bihar Veterinary College, Patna in collaboration with Professional Agricultural Management Services (PAMS), Gurgaon to showcase the latest technological developments in the field of agriculture.
While Inaugurating the Expo Shri Narendra Singh, Agriculture Minister, Govt. of Bihar thanked the organizers for such a novel programme for the farmers in which more than 2000 farmers arrived, and lauded the effort of ICAR-RCER, Patna and PAMS, Gurgaon for raising technological awareness of farming community. He laid stress on the importance of quality inputs in taking agriculture sector to a greater height and asked the farm machinery producing companies to set up their own firms in the land of Bihar also, and make their products less costly and more affordable to farmers of Bihar.
The inaugural function was also addressed by dignitaries like Smt. Punam Devi, Local MLA; Shri Alok Kumar Sinha, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Govt. of Bihar; Shri Arvinder Singh, Director, Agriculture, Govt. of Bihar; Dr. B.P. Bhatt, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna; Shri Gopi Nath, Industrialist and Shri M.S. Yadav, Director, PAMS, Gurgaon.
Four ICAR institutes and about 80 firms from different parts of the country dealing in agricultural technological inputs including seeds, plant protection chemicals, fertilizers and farm implements/ machinery, package of practices of different crops’ cultivation together with ICAR-RCER participated in the Expo, and exhibited their technological products.
