The Regional Station, ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Bhubaneswar, Odisha organized the Brainstorming Meet on “Duck Research in India - A Way Forward” today.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Bhupendra Nath Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR suggested to develop a roadmap for improving the Duck production from 33 Millions from 40 Millions in the next 5 Years. The Collaborative Programme with CPDO for the effective extension and propagation of Duck rearing was also accentuated by Dr. Tripathi.
Dr. R.P. Singh, Director, ICAR-DFMD, Bhubaneswar, Odisha marked his presence as the Guest of Honor of the occasion.
Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. R.N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR, Hyderabad highlighted the importance of Duck species in the country. Her also urged the Eminent Scientists to discuss the researchable issues and come-up with the recommendations to develop Duck production in the country.
Dr. C.K. Behura, In-Charge, Regional Station, ICAR-DPR, Bhubaneswar underlined the Centre’s significant achievements and contributions in Duck development.
Dr. Mahesh P.S., Joint Commissioner & Director, CPDO, Bengaluru and Dr. A. Jalaudeen, Former Director of Academics & Research, KVASU, Kerala outlined the status of Duck production in India and abroad.
