“29th Annual Review Meeting of AICRP on Weed Management” organized

25 - 27 May, 2022, Coimbatore

The ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh organized the “29^th Annual Review Meeting (ARM) of All India Coordinated Research Project on Weed Management (AICRP-WM)” at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu from 25^th to 27^th May, 2022.

Delivering the inaugural address, Dr. V. Geetha Lakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu underlined the importance of weed management in sustainable food systems under the climate change scenario.

In his valedictory programme, Dr. Suryanarayan Bhaskar, ADG (Agronomy, Agroforestry & Climate Change), ICAR accentuated to have strong collaboration with the other crop-based ICAR Institutes for avoiding the duplicity in the Weed Management Research.

Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries, Dr. J.S. Mishra, Director, ICAR-DWR, Jabalpur, highlighted the importance of Weeds and Weed Management in sustainable crop production and the role of AICRP on Weed Management Centres in developing and disseminating the need-based location-specific Weed Management Technologies.

The Meeting registered participation by around 100 participants.
