Webshop on “Sustainable Technological Interventions for Entrepreneurship Development in Tribal Zone” organized

10 - 12 August, 2021, Ranchi

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Natural Resins & Gums, Ranchi, Jharkhand in collaboration with the National Institute of Agricultural Extension Management (MANAGE), Hyderabad organized a Webshop on “Sustainable Technological Interventions for Entrepreneurship Development in Tribal Zone” from 10th to 12th August, 2021.

In his inaugural address, the Chief Guest, Dr. P. Chandra Shekara, Director General, MANAGE, Hyderabad emphasized on promoting the linkages for enhancing the producer’s share (mainly forest dwellers of the tribal communities) in the consumer rupee particularly, the Natural Resins & Gums (NRGs) sector. The Director General advised that the lac production along with the other NRGs might be a good option for developing Entrepreneurship in the remote areas.

In his address, Dr. K.K. Sharma, Chairman & Director, ICAR-IINRG, Ranchi outlined the scope of NRG sector for the livelihood security and earning foreign exchange. He regarded the integrated approach of farming as the key for ecological balance and lac cultivation as the best option for alternative agriculture.

Dr. Saravanan Raj, Director, MANAGE, Hyderabad urged the participants to disseminate the information further among the stakeholders.

The participants from the State Agriculture Departments, Cooperative Federations and Agricultural Departments from 26 States and Union Territories participated in the Webshop.
