Shri Sushil Kumar, I.A.S., Additional Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR) visited the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil and Water Conservation, Research Centre, Agra today.
Shri Kumar visited the facilities and the research farm of the Centre. He emphasized to strengthen the linkages of the research centre with the mandated states for ensuring the large-scale transfer of soil and water conservation technologies through the training, demonstrations and other means that help in the widespread adoptions by the end-users.
Shri Kumar also opined for the help to solve the existing administrative difficulties by mobilizing the concerned departments and officials. He urged to explore the possibility of bringing more research and development fund from funding agencies like DST to strengthen the research and facilities of the Centre.
Earlier, Dr. S.K. Dubey, Head of the Centre briefed about the Institute, Research Centre, the research facilities and the impact realized.
A summary of research achievements accrued over the last ten years through the on-going and concluded research projects was also presented.
