A two-day Annual Review workshop of National Innovations in Climate Resilient Agriculture (NICRA) was inaugurated by Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) today.

Dr Mohapatra, in his inaugural address, urged to convert the 151 Climate Resilient Villages (CRVs) to CRV Cluster Villages and to involve State Governments for successful upscaling of CRVs. He emphasized that experiences of NICRA should be shared with International Institutes and Organizations like ICARDA, FAO to replicate NICRA Climate Resilient Village models in other countries particularly Africa.
Dr Mohapatra said to attain the set target of 30-33 per cent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in the country NICRA should develop package of site specific Climate Resilient Technologies for implementation by Departments like DAC, DADF and State Governments.
Shri Chhabilendra Roul, Special Secretary (DARE) & Secretary (ICAR); Shri Bimbadhar Pradhan ,Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor (DARE/ICAR); Dr. K. Alagusundaram, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Engineering); Dr. A.K.Singh, Deputy Director General (Agricultural Extension); Dr Anand Kumar Singh, Deputy Director General (Horticultural Science); Dr. Joykrushna Jena, Deputy Director General (Fisheries Science); Dr S Bhaskar, ADG (AAF&CC); Dr SK Chaudhari, ADG (SWM); Dr K Sammi Reddy, Director (Act), ICAR-CRIDA, Hyderabad and NICRA Expert Committee Members participated in the inaugural session.
About 200 Scientists from ICAR institutes, KVKs, SAUs, IITs are participated in the meeting.
