Shri Vishwas Sarang and Shri Darshan Singh Choudhary Attend PM-KISAN 20th Installment Release Programme

To commemorate the release of the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Varanasi, a special programme was organized at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal.

In his address, the Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government of India’s steadfast commitment to farmer welfare and highlighted the significance of Direct Benefit Transfer in ensuring transparency and eliminating middlemen. Under this installment, over 9.7 crore farmers received a total of ₹20,500 crore directly in their bank accounts. Since the scheme’s inception in February 2019, more than ₹3.69 lakh crore has been disbursed through 19 previous installments, offering crucial income support to small and marginal farmers across the country.

Shri Vishwas Sarang, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs & Cooperation, Government of Madhya Pradesh, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Shri Darshan Singh Choudhary, Member of Parliament, and Shri Neetiraj Patel, Member, Institute Management Committee, attended the event as Special Guests.
Dr. Monoranjan Mohanty, Director, ICAR-IISS, welcomed the dignitaries and participants and outlined the Institute’s contributions towards sustainable soil health management and farmer outreach.

As part of the programme Vermibeds were distributed to farmers under the Swachh Bharat Mission, promoting sustainable waste-to-wealth practices. Soil Health Cards, developed based on laboratory-tested soil parameters, were also distributed to create awareness among farmers on judicious use of inputs and sustainable soil management.

The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 300 attendees, including 120 farmers, alongside scientists, officials, and stakeholders. It served as a platform to reinforce the government's vision for transforming Indian agriculture through innovation, inclusion, and investment.
