Kakdwip, 5th November 2012
Shri Subrata Saha, Minister of State (Fisheries), Government of West Bengal, visited the Kakdwip Research Centre (KRC) of Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture (CIBA) on 5th November, 2012. The minister appreciated the work being carried out at the Centre and the technologies developed by CIBA that are of great help to the brackishwater aqua-farmers to achieve better production and improve their economic status. He complimented CIBA scientists for taking up projects under NFDB, NAIP and CPWF for the betterment of farming communities in West Bengal.
Shri Saha also appreciated the frontline farm demonstrations of Asian seabass farming, production of fish poly-culture feed by CIBA, Kadwip and suggested to further strengthen research on seabass farming with pellet diet and simpler technology for the white shrimp farming. He complimented CIBA for being involved in scientific sustainable farming of fish, shrimp and crab and also engaged in training the poor and small farmers.
Senior officials of the state department of fisheries also visited the centre along with dignitary and scientists of CIBA explained various activities of the Centre.
