ICAR Secures 2nd Position Nationally in SĀDHANA Saptah 2026

ICAR Headquarters has secured an outstanding second position at the national level in the category of Best Performing Ministries/Departments/Centres (10,000–50,000 employees) during SĀDHANA Saptah 2026, held from 2nd to 10th April under Mission Karmayogi, Government of India.

The award was conferred by Dr Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions), during the felicitation ceremony held today organized by Karmayogi Bharat under Mission Karmayogi, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

The recognition was received under the leadership of Dr M. L. Jat, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, along with Dr Shanti Kumar Sharma, Assistant Director General (HRM), Dr Gopal Lal, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad & Nodal Officer, iGOT, ICAR.

On the occasion, Dr Jat congratulated all officials and employees of ICAR for this significant national achievement, noting that it reflects the organization’s unwavering commitment to strengthening human resource capabilities, fostering a culture of continuous learning, and aligning institutional goals with national priorities of governance excellence. He further emphasized that the accomplishment reinforces ICAR’s leadership role in advancing capacity building and human resource management within the agricultural research and education ecosystem of the country.

Dr Sharma, along with the Nodal Officer (iGOT, ICAR Headquarters), stated that this national recognition was made possible through continuous inspiration, strategic planning, ease of learning policies, and close monitoring by Dr Jat,. He highlighted that the initiative was systematically implemented through regular circulars, national-level webinars, and review meetings involving all ICAR institutes. The effort was effectively coordinated by the HRM Unit with support from ICAR-NAARM, the Capacity Building Unit, and HRD Nodal Officers and MDOs for iGOT activities, ensuring uniform participation, real-time tracking, and sustained motivation across the organization.

The nationwide initiative witnessed extensive participation across ministries and departments, with a focus on capacity building, continuous learning, and fostering future-ready governance. ICAR’s high ranking was driven by its strong performance across key parameters, including extensive course completions, substantial learning hours (exceeding both one-hour and four-hour benchmarks), wide employee participation, and notable achievements in advanced AI-based learning modules such as Daksh competencies.

ICAR demonstrated excellence through significant contributions in total course completions, accumulated learning hours, number of certified learners, and completion of recommended learning pathways, reflecting a deeply ingrained culture of professional development and digital learning. The achievement further underscores ICAR’s proactive engagement with emerging domains such as Artificial Intelligence and governance reforms.
