ICAR-National Institute of Veterinary Epidemiology and Disease Informatics, Bengaluru, inaugurated a five-day Hands-on Training on Laboratory Diagnosis of Zoonotic Diseases for One Health Readiness under the National One Health Programme for Prevention and Control of Zoonoses (NOHPPCZ) of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Government of India.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Mruthyunjaya, Former Director, NCAP, New Delhi, appreciated ICAR-NIVEDI’s sustained contributions in research, capacity building and extension activities.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Baldev R. Gulati, Director, ICAR-NIVEDI, emphasized the critical role of timely and accurate laboratory diagnosis in strengthening national preparedness for zoonotic diseases.

The training programme, being conducted from 2-6 February 2026, is attended by 20 participants from seven states-Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Mizoram-comprising IDSP personnel, laboratory technicians, medical and veterinary faculty, researchers and public health professionals.
