A workshop on "banana fibre extraction & utilization" was organized at Balagarh, Hooghly today.
Dr. Laxmikanta Nayak, Head, Transfer of Technology Division, spoke about the potential of banana fibre in development of diversified value-added products. He also emphasized upon the byproduct’s utilization after extraction, in making fertilizers.
The banana fibre extractor was demonstrated to the participating farmers who have learnt in details regarding fibre extraction process.
About 100 farmers associated with banana cultivation and craft works have participated in this SCSP sponsored workshop.
