Workshop on Balanced Use of Fertilizers organised at ICAR-NINFET, Kolkata

A National Awareness Workshop on “Balanced Use of Fertilizers for Sustainable Soil Health and Enhanced Crop Productivity” under the Khet Bacchao Abhiyan was successfully organized here today. The programme aimed to enhance stakeholders' awareness of scientific nutrient management, balanced fertilizer use, and sustainable soil health practices to improve crop productivity.

Dr D. B. Shakyawar, Director, ICAR-NINFET in his welcome address highlighted the importance of balanced fertilizer application for maintaining soil fertility and ensuring sustainable agricultural development.

Dr S. N. Das, Director, SAMETI, West Bengal graced the occasion as Guest of Honour and stressed upon the collaborative efforts between ICAR-NINFET & SAMETI for harnessing greater benefits for the stakeholders.

Presentations on ‘Soil Health Management for Sustainable Agriculture’ and ‘Integrated Nutrient Management (INM): Combining Organic and Inorganic Nutrient Sources’ were made and after presentations, participants had detailed discussions with the experts.

One (01) training manual & three (03) leaflets pertaining to soil health management and balanced fertilizer use were released on this occasion and were distributed among the participants.

A total of 114 participants including 80 agricultural input dealers, 5 officials from SAMETI, West Bengal have participated in this august event.
