Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Ramnath Thakur, reviewed the research, extension, and farmer-centric activities of ICAR–National Institute of Biotic Stress Management, Raipur, during a meeting held at the Circuit House, Nava Raipur.
Shri Thakur appreciated the significant contributions of ICAR-NIBSM in addressing emerging agricultural challenges and promoting climate-resilient farming practices. He urged scientists to strengthen technology transfer through large-scale demonstrations and field-level interventions so that innovations reach farmers effectively and contribute to increased farm income.

He also highlighted the success of the Government of India’s Balanced Fertilizer Use Campaign and called upon scientists to actively support the forthcoming ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’ beginning on 01 June by creating awareness among farmers for its successful implementation.
Welcoming the Minister, Dr P.K. Rai, Director, ICAR-NIBSM, presented an overview of the Institute’s major achievements, ongoing research programmes, and initiatives aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, sustainability, and farmers’ livelihoods.

Special emphasis was given to activities under the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan (SCSP), Tribal Sub Plan (TSP), and North Eastern Hill (NEH) programmes, focusing on capacity building, technology dissemination, and socio-economic empowerment of farming communities.
The meeting was attended by Joint Directors, along with Principal Scientists and senior officials of the Institute.
