Report on Campaign for Balanced Use of Fertilizers under ICAR-ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad

Under the Intensive Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers coordinated by ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad, extension and awareness activities were conducted on 17.05.2026 across eight districts of Andhra Pradesh involving KVKs under the Zone. A total of 4 awareness programmes covering 296 farmers were organized in Anantapur, Bapatla, Guntur, and Palnadu districts. One training programme was conducted benefiting 120 farmers. KVK scientists disseminated 852 technical talks and advisories through various extension platforms and social media channels including WhatsApp, Facebook, and X.

The campaign achieved a digital outreach of 94,679 farmers through social media platforms, while 536 farmers were covered through direct physical contact and field-level interactions. In addition, one demonstration activity related to balanced nutrient management was conducted during the campaign. Overall, the campaign generated substantial awareness on balanced fertiliser use, soil health management, and sustainable nutrient management practices among farming communities across the participating districts.

Under the Intensive Awareness Campaign on Balanced Use of Fertilisers coordinated by ICAR–Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute (ATARI), Zone X, Hyderabad, awareness and extension activities were conducted on 17.05.2026 across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry involving 72 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). The campaign promoted balanced fertiliser use, scientific nutrient management, soil health improvement, and sustainable agricultural practices through field-level interventions.

A total of 4 awareness programmes covering 296 farmers and one training programme benefiting 120 farmers were organized, along with one interface meeting involving 120 participants. KVK scientists disseminated 2,602 technical talks and advisories through various outreach platforms. The campaign achieved a digital outreach of 96,907 farmers through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other social media platforms, while 536 farmers were covered through direct physical contact and field interactions.

One demonstration activity was also conducted to promote balanced fertiliser use and sustainable nutrient management practices. Overall, the campaign generated a cumulative outreach of 97,443 farmer contacts across the participating states under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad.
