The intensive campaign on balanced use of fertilizers conducted today across eight districts under ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad demonstrated effective field-level outreach combined with capacity building activities. A total of 11 awareness programs were organized, reaching 479 farmers directly, along with 2 training programs benefiting 45 farmers. In addition, 9 training-related interventions covered 353 participants, supplemented by interface meetings and extension interactions involving multiple stakeholders. The campaign also included expert engagements such as TV and radio talks, enhancing the dissemination of scientific nutrient management practices.
Digital outreach emerged as a major strength, achieving a total social media reach of 2,31,402 farmers through platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook, and other media channels. Complementing this, 1,038 farmers were covered through direct physical contact, including field visits and advisory services. Extension interventions included 13 demonstrations on green manuring, biofertilizers, and related practices, along with awareness activities such as wall paintings and poster displays. Overall, the campaign effectively integrated digital communication with grassroots extension efforts, significantly enhancing awareness and promoting balanced fertiliser use across the region.

The intensive campaign on balanced use of fertilizers conducted on 02 May 2026 across all 72 KVKs under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad effectively integrated field extension, capacity building, and digital outreach, organizing 25 awareness programs that reached 1,063 farmers, along with 15 training programs benefiting 592 farmers and 3 Kisan Melas covering 772 farmers. Digital dissemination was the key driver, achieving a social media reach of 3,22,094 farmers, complemented by 2,748 farmers reached through direct contact.
The campaign also implemented 36 demonstrations on green manuring, biofertilizers, and sustainable practices, along with awareness activities, thereby strengthening farmer–scientist linkages and promoting balanced fertilizer use across the Zone.
