ICAR–National Research Centre on Litchi, Muzaffarpur, organized a Parthenium Awareness Programme today at its institute farm as part of the nationwide observance of Parthenium Awareness Week (16–22 August 2025).

The programme aimed to sensitize scientific, technical, administrative staff, and farm workers about the harmful impact of Parthenium hysterophorus (commonly known as Congress grass), a highly invasive weed that poses serious threats to agriculture, biodiversity, livestock, and human health.

As part of the event, practical demonstrations on eradication techniques and integrated weed management practices were conducted, followed by a collective eradication drive on the institute premises. Active participation of all staff and farm workers highlighted the institute’s strong commitment towards promoting a clean, green, and safe farm environment.
