ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management organized an innovative training programme on ‘Psychometry and Scaling Methods’ for the benefit of extension professionals all over the country during December 15-19, 2025.
The purpose of the training was to enhance the skills of extension professionals in capturing, measuring and analyzing the psychological measures such as awareness, knowledge, perception, attitude, personality etc., so that they can scientifically understand the behavioural pattern of stakeholders including farmers towards farm innovations.
The training module was designed in such a way to impart knowledge and skills of assessing the psychological measures in three different components such as understanding, measuring and analyzing psychological constructs. The module had theoretical sessions, hands-on exercises, cast study discussions and online sessions of selected exports.
Dr. Gopal Lal, Director, ICAR-NAARM during his valedictory address urged the participants to apply the principles gained through the training at their real-life situations.
The profile included university officials, professors, principal scientists, KVK Heads and subject matter specialists and research scholars.
The participants opined that the programme was very much useful in understanding and capturing the psychological measures of stakeholders.
Twenty-two participants repressing KVKs, SAUs, ICAR institutes involved in extension, research and teaching participated.
