ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), New Delhi, organised a five-day Capacity Strengthening Workshop on "Impact Assessment of Agricultural Technologies and Policies" from 13–17 July 2026.
The programme aimed to strengthen researchers' capacities in applying advanced impact evaluation methods for assessing agricultural technologies and policies. It combined expert lectures with practical sessions using STATA and R, delivered by resource persons from IFPRI and ICAR institutions.

Dr R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Director, ICAR-NAARM, highlighted the importance of rigorous impact evaluation in evidence-based agricultural research and policymaking.
Dr Gopal Lal, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, encouraged participants to effectively utilise the knowledge and analytical skills imparted during the workshop, while Ms. Swetha Gupta, Senior Research Analyst, IFPRI, outlined the objectives and significance of the collaborative programme.

The valedictory session featured remarks by eminent speakers emphasising the growing need for robust impact assessment to guide research investments and evidence-based policy decisions.
The workshop was attended by 21 researchers from various ICAR institutes, State Agricultural Universities, and other organisations across India.
