ICAR–KVK Nimbudera Organizes Awareness Programme on Sustainable Farming Practices under “Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026”

ICAR–KVK, Nimbudera, organized a series of awareness programs on sustainable farming practices under ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026’ during 22–23 June 2026 at Nimbutala and Dharmapur villages of Rangat Block, N & M Andaman, in collaboration with UTATMA, Department of Agriculture, A & N Administration.

The programme aimed to create awareness among farmers about sustainable agricultural practices for enhancing crop productivity, conserving soil health, improving resource-use efficiency, and increasing farm income.

During the programme, farmers were sensitized on various aspects of sustainable agriculture, including balanced fertilizer application, the importance of Soil Health Cards, integrated nutrient management through vermicomposting and composting, seed treatment with biofertilizers, scientific paddy cultivation practices, integrated pest management, and promotion of organic and natural farming practices.

ICAR–KVK Nimbudera Organizes Awareness Programme on Sustainable Farming Practices under “Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026”

The farmer–expert interaction sessions provided a platform for farmers to share their field-level experiences and challenges related to crop production. The experts provided technical guidance on efficient input management, integrated pest and nutrient management, climate-resilient farming practices, and adoption of improved agricultural technologies.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Jai Sunder, Director (Act.), ICAR–CIARI, Sri Vijayapuram.

A total of 86 farmers and farmwomen actively participated in the programme.
