ICAR-Central Research Institute of Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad, entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Mahyco Private Limited, Jalna, Maharashtra, today at the ICAR-CRIDA campus.
The MoA was formally signed by Shri Babul Kumar Sinha, Chief Administrative Officer (SG), on behalf of ICAR-CRIDA, and Dr Vilas Parkhi, Lead-Technology, representing Mahyco Private Limited. The signing ceremony was held in the presence of Dr Vinod Kumar Singh, Director, ICAR-CRIDA.
The agreement pertains to a contract research project titled “Enhancing wheat and rice yield prediction in smallholder landscapes using multimodel ensemble approaches.” Under this collaboration, ICAR-CRIDA will provide in-season yield forecasts for rice and wheat seed production and demonstration plots of Mahyco using advanced crop simulation modelling techniques.
Dr Smitha Kurup, Group Leader, Phenomics & Data Science at Mahyco Private Limited, along with senior officials from ICAR-CRIDA, were also present on the occasion.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen data-driven agricultural decision-making and improve yield forecasting accuracy for smallholder farming systems.
