The initiative was undertaken as a gesture of solidarity with farming communities affected by the recent floods, particularly in Sivasagar, Charaideo and Jorhat districts. The campaign focused on reaching affected farm families at the grassroots level and providing timely support to help them cope with the prevailing situation and undertake appropriate contingency measures for sustaining their agricultural activities.

During the first phase, five flood relief camps were organised at Haahchara Chetia Gaon in Sivasagar district, Jamuguri in Charaideo district, KVK Sivasagar campus at Rohdoi, Hulal Kalita Gaon and Tengahula in Sivasagar. More than 350 farm families from Sivasagar and Charaideo districts were reached through these camps.
With nine relief camps conducted over two days, more than 600 flood-affected farm families received immediate relief support. The intervention was aimed at strengthening the capacity of affected families to respond to the flood situation, adopt timely contingency measures and sustain their agricultural activities during the challenging period.

The campaign reflected the strong commitment and social responsibility of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII and its extensive KVK network towards supporting farming communities during natural calamities.
The initiative was undertaken with the valuable guidance, encouragement and support of Dr A. K. Mohanty, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII, Umiam, whose leadership encouraged employees and KVK personnel to voluntarily come forward and extend support to distressed farming families.
Through this initiative, ICAR-ATARI, Zone-VII and its KVK network reaffirmed their commitment to standing with farming communities during times of crisis and contributing to their resilience, recovery and continuity of agricultural activities.
