The 134th episode of the “Mann Ki Baat” programme by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, was collectively listened at ICAR–Central Institute of Agricultural Engineering, Bhopal today, in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh Shri Mangubhai C. Patel.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister, In his address, highlighted the achievements of Indian athletes, traditional summer beverages from different states, innovative educational initiatives in Kerala, insights from his recent foreign visits, the importance of astronomy and scientific awareness, conservation efforts for the Ganga Dolphin, community-led cleaning of the Manorama River in Uttar Pradesh, and the dedicated service of a school teacher from Tamil Nadu in promoting patriotism and national service among youth.

Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Governor Shri Mangubhai C. Patel emphasized the vital role of agricultural engineering technologies and scientific interventions in enhancing agricultural productivity and doubling farmers’ income. He encouraged farmers to adopt modern agricultural machinery, processing technologies, water conservation practices, and value addition approaches for sustainable and profitable agriculture. He also appreciated the continuous efforts of ICAR-CIAE scientists in developing farmer-friendly technologies for the welfare of the farming community. The Hon’ble Governor further motivated farmers and rural youth to actively engage in entrepreneurship, agri-startups, and technology-driven agriculture as drone, drip technology to improve livelihoods and strengthen the rural economy. Dr C.R. Mehta, Director, ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal, highlighted the institute’s significant achievements and contributions in agricultural engineering, farm mechanization, post-harvest technology, renewable energy, precision agriculture, value addition, and skill development for farmers and rural youth.
More than 150 farmers from different parts of the region participated in the programme and interacted with scientists on various technological interventions for agriculture. On the occasion, the Hon’ble Governor distributed agricultural tool kits to farmers under the SCSP programme, further encouraging the adoption of improved agricultural technologies at the grassroots level.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks followed by a reaffirmation of the collective commitment of all stakeholders towards agricultural development, technological innovation, sustainable farming, and farmers’ prosperity, in line with the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
The programme inspired participants by showcasing exemplary efforts in sports, education, environmental conservation, science, and nation-building, reinforcing the spirit of collective participation for a developed and self-reliant India.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from scientists, farmers, students, officials, and staff members of the institute.
