As part of the ongoing Khet Bachao Abhiyan 2026, ICAR–Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Nimbudera, in association with the UTATMA, Department of Agriculture, A & N Administration, organised an Awareness Programme at Pinakinagar and Kamlapur villages of N & M Andaman district.

The programme aimed to create awareness among farmers on the importance of balanced and judicious use of fertilizers, Soil Health Cards, organic and natural farming practices, and various government schemes available for the farming community. Emphasis was laid on the need for integrated nutrient management through inorganic and organic fertilizer to maintain soil health and ensure long-term agricultural productivity.

During the programme, experts highlighted the significance of integrated nutrient management and encouraged farmers to adopt eco-friendly agricultural practices such as vermicomposting and the use of biofertilizers including Azotobacter, azospirlium and VAM. The participants were also informed about the benefits of organic and natural farming in improving soil fertility, enhancing crop productivity, reducing input costs, and promoting environmental sustainability.
