Dr. Alok Kumar Sikka, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management and Agricultural Extension), ICAR visited Hundru, Chhota Ghagra and Saraitoli villages near Ranchi on 4th May, 2014 to review the progress of work undertaken on technology dissemination. This work has been undertaken by the ICAR Research Complex for Eastern Region, Patna under the Tribal Sub-Plan.
During the visit, Dr. Sikka interacted with the farmers and expressed his gratification on benefit accrued to farmers due to the interventions made under the programme. Dr. Sikka also visited the Regional Centre of ICAR-RCER at Ranchi to review the different activities being undertaken in the centre.
Dr. B.P. Bhatt, Director, ICAR-RCER, Patna briefed Dr. Sikka about the principal approaches being adopted for implementation of the programme viz. participatory decision making, strengthening the core competencies of the stakeholders through capacity building and technological backstopping for adoption of integrated farming system approach.
Dr. A.K. Singh, ZPD, Kolkata and Dr. R.P. Singh Ratan, Director of Extension, Birsa Agricultural University, Ranchi were also present on the occasion.
Dr. Arun Kumar Singh, Principal Scientist and Head of the Centre explained about the progress under different research projects being undertaken at the centre.
