Report on Khet Bachao Abhiyan Organised by KVKs under ICAR–ATARI Zone X, Hyderabad

Today under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan in the top eight DAP-consuming districts of Andhra Pradesh, a total of 6 awareness programs were organized across Anantapur, Bapatla, Guntur, Nandyal, Palnadu, and Prakasam districts, benefiting 312 farmers. In addition, 2 training programs were conducted covering 123 farmers. Further, 85 farmers visited KVKs and interacted with scientists and experts for technical guidance.

Demonstration activities included 4 Green Manuring demonstrations, 5 Bio-fertilizer demonstrations, and 3 other demonstrations promoting balanced fertilizer use and soil health management. Through direct extension activities, the campaign reached 545 farmers physically, while extensive dissemination through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other social media platforms reached 1,11,015 farmers and stakeholders. Overall, the campaign achieved a total outreach of 1,11,560 beneficiaries, significantly strengthening awareness on balanced fertilizer use, integrated nutrient management, and sustainable soil health practices.

On 01.06.2026, under the Khet Bachao Abhiyan conducted by 72 KVKs under ICAR-Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone X, Hyderabad, a total of 18 awareness programs were organized across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, benefiting 616 farmers. In addition, 5 training programs were conducted covering 209 farmers, while 1 Kisan Goshti/Field Day reached 16 farmers. A total of 139 farmers visited KVKs and interacted with scientists and experts for technical guidance.

Demonstration activities included 5 Green Manuring demonstrations, 4 Bio-fertilizer demonstrations, and 5 other nutrient management demonstrations across the Zone. Through direct extension activities, the campaign reached 1,005 farmers physically, while extensive dissemination through WhatsApp, Facebook, X, and other social media platforms reached 1,46,011 farmers and stakeholders. Overall, the campaign achieved a total outreach of 1,47,016 beneficiaries, significantly strengthening awareness on balanced fertilizer use, integrated nutrient management, and soil health conservation across the Zone.
