A 2-day zonal workshop and group meeting of cluster front line demonstration was organized by ICAR- Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute, Zone-IV, Patna in collaboration with ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sahibganj at Tilka Majhi Agriculture College, Godda, Jharkhand from 3rd-4th February, 2025.
Dr S. C. Dubey, Vice-Chancellor, Birsa Agriculture University, Ranchi, in his inaugural address, stated that achieving self-sufficiency in pulses and oilseeds is a major challenge and sustaining pulses/oilseeds production is required to be maintained. He highlighted that the cluster approach is the best way for technology application. Dr Dubey urged the KVK experts to identify the major problems of the farmers and support the farmers through the best technology for oilseeds and pulses crops in their situation.
The experts briefed about the status of oilseeds and pulses in Bihar and Jharkhand and future strategies for out-scaling the suitable technologies. They also highlighted that a technological package should be designed after a technology gap assessment with the full involvement of partner farmers for the successful implementation of the CFLD programme and to achieve the potential yield of oilseeds and pulses crops.
In different technical sessions, progress of Cluster Front Line Demonstrations on oilseeds and pulses was critically reviewed and suggestions were given for better implementation of the programme in the future.
Senior Scientist & Head/ Nodal Officer of CFLD of 66 KVKs under ICAR- ATARI, Zone IV, Patna participated and presented their salient achievements on their Oilseed and Pulse Demonstration under CFLD.
