ICAR-KVK North Goa Felicitated by the Chief Minister for Outstanding Contribution to Agriculture

ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, North Goa, was honoured with a Certificate of Appreciation by Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant during the state-level celebration of “11 Saal – Sankalp Se Siddhi” held in Ponda.

The award, presented in the presence of the state cabinet and Chief Secretary, recognised KVK’s exemplary efforts in promoting sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture in Goa.

Dr. Parveen Kumar, Director, ICAR-Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute, Goa received the award on behalf of the KVK team. The event also featured the participation of the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan team, who showcased key agricultural initiatives benefiting farmers and stakeholders.

ICAR-KVK North Goa serves over 25,000 farmers and stakeholders annually through training and extension activities focused on modern farming practices, organic agriculture, and integrated farming systems. The centre has led impactful initiatives in crop diversification, integrated pest management, biofertilizers, vermicomposting, and water-use efficiency, specifically tailored to the coastal agro-ecology of the state.

With more than 150 farmer-scientist interactions and extensive on-field demonstrations, KVK has empowered Goa’s farming community through knowledge dissemination and capacity building.

The recognition underscores the institution’s vital role in rural development and its alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
