Dr. A.K. Tiwari, Director, Directorate of Pulse Development, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh along with Shri S.S. Rajput, Deputy Director Agriculture, Indore District, Madhya Pradesh and team visited the ICAR-Indian Institute of Soybean Research, Indore, Madhya Pradesh today.
Dr. Tiwari expressed his concerns regarding the problems faced by the farmers due to the erratic weather conditions. During his visit to the Demonstration Field at the Institute’s Experimental Farm, Dr. Tiwari stated that the Soybean Crop will continue to contribute in “Atmanirbharta” in Oilseed production of the country due to the increasing area of Soybean in the other states with the contribution of the Institute and its All India Coordinated Research Projects.

Dr. Nita Khandekar, Director, ICAR-IISR, Indore highlighted the Institute’s achievements and the work being undertaken especially about the development of climate resilient varieties and practices / methods suitable to mitigate the effects of climatic conditions. Dr. Nita also underlined the recent release and notification of 15 Soybean varieties during November - 2020 and March - 2021 that are suitable for the different climatic zones. Out of these, 8 Varieties have been recommended for Madhya Pradesh.
