The ICAR-Central Soil Salinity Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana organized a Goshthi on “Role of Women in Land Degradation Neutrality Policy and Livelihood” in Begampur Village, Karnal, Haryana today.
During his virtual interaction, Dr. P.C. Sharma, Director, ICAR-CSSRI, Karnal assured them for providing with the gender-based knowledge and information related to the management of salinity-induced land and enhancing their livelihood.

A group of 40 women and other farmers participated and shared their knowledge, practices and income generated from the diversified cropping systems (rice-wheat-moong bean-muskmelon) with the Agro-Advisories (Gypsum in association with the Organic Resources and Salt Tolerant Crop Varieties) provided by the ICAR-CSSRI, Karnal.
The programme was organized in association with the Village Panchayat and an NGO to mark the celebrations of the “93rd Foundation Day of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research” and “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” to commemorate 75 Years of India’s Independence.
