The ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology, Mumbai, Maharashtra celebrated its 98th Foundation Day today.
The Institute also organized a Webinar on “Cotton Linters’ Present Scenario and Future Prospects” in collaboration with the Indian Society for Cotton Improvement (ISCI), Mumbai and All India Cotton Seed Crushers Association (AICOSCA), Mumbai, Maharashtra to celebrate the Agricultural Education Day - 2021.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Dr. Suresh Kumar Chaudhari, Deputy Director General (Natural Resource Management & Agricultural Engineering), ICAR applauded the Institute for its achievements in the area of ginning technology, cotton quality improvement, nano technology, revenue generation and skill development, etc. The DDG also emphasized on the Institute’s role in addressing the emerging needs of the sector to attain Global Excellence in cotton technology.
Dr. S.N. Jha, ADG (PE), ICAR lauded the Institute’s journey in the last five years and its recognition as a Best Institute in the ICAR System.
Dr. K.K. Singh, ADG (AE), ICAR complemented the Institute for its glorious past.
Earlier, in her welcome address, Dr. (Mrs.) Sujata Saxena, Director, ICAR-CIRCOT, Mumbai highlighted the Institute’s significant research achievements and the other major activities organized.
The Institute also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s Vidarbha Sales, Nagpur for the Commercialization of Technology “ICAR-CIRCOT Trapezoidal Shaped Low-cost Briquette Based Crematorium” along with Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with 10 Agri-Start-Ups of 2nd Cohort of ICAR-CIRCOT R-ABI. Around 200 participants participated in the event.
