The ICAR-National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources, Karnal, Haryana virtually organized the Interface Meet on “AnGR of Uttar Pradesh State: A Mission towards Zero Non-Descript AnGR of India” today.

In his address, Dr. G.K. Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Pashu Chikitsa Vishwavidyalaya, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh underlined the equitable development of the Animal Husbandry sector with breed-specific breeding policies in the State.
Dr. V.K. Saxena, ADG (AP&B), ICAR urged for the collaboration of the various agencies and adopting the suitable survey methodology for the documentation of native AnGR.
Dr. Indramani, Director, Disease Control & Farms, Animal Husbandry Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh appreciated the work initiated by the ICAR-NBAGR.
Dr. A.K. Singh, C.E.O., Uttar Pradesh Livestock Development Board stressed on the need for the Description of the native AnGR for developing suitable livestock policies.
Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. B.P. Mishra, Director, ICAR-NBAGR, highlighted the Bureau’s achievements and the strategies for documenting the Non-Descript population under the Mission.
A total of 195 participants of ICAR Institutes, State Agricultural Universities, Department of Animal Husbandry, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Degree Colleges and Uttar Pradesh Livestock Development Board, etc., participated in the Meet.
