28th February, 2022
To commemorate the unparalleled contributions of Sir C.V. Raman, Great Indian Physicist, the 28th February is celebrated as the “National Science Day” every Year. Dr. Raman was honored with the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for his discovery of the Raman Effect.
Since then, every year the day felicitates the scientists for their contributions in the various fields of science.
ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad
Delivering his address, on the occasion, Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad highlighted the importance of celebrating the day. The crucial role played by the science and technology in addressing the recent challenges posed by the COVID-19 Pandemic was underlined by Dr. Rao.

Dr. G. Venkateshwarlu, Joint Director, ICAR-NAARM, Hyderabad urged the students to “Learn to click and Click to learn” in science with deep interest to achieve the desired goals in their career.
Around 200 Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Students from Gurunanak Institute of Technology, Sardar Patel College, Bharath Institute of Technology, Sidhartha Institute of Technology and Science, J.B. Institute of Engineering and Technology, Spoorthi College of Engineering, KPR Institute of Technology participated in the valedictory ceremony of the programme.
ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha
The Institute organized a Lecture on “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future” to celebrate the National Science Day - 2022.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Mihir Das, Former Professor, Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Odisha encouraged the students to follow the path of Science for the betterment of the society.
In his Keynote Address, Dr. S.C. Rath, Former Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar underlined the scope of fishery science as a career option.
Earlier, Dr. S.K. Swain, Director, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar briefed about the Institute’s activities.
Around 120 students participated in this event.
ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Hyderabad
The Chief Guest, Padma Bhushan, Dr. Anil Prakash Joshi, Noted Environmentalist, Scientist & Founder, Himalayan Environmental Studies and Conservation Organization (HESCO) delivered the Lecture on “Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future”. The need to fill the gap between Rural- Urban Divide in terms of Science, Technology & Information was stressed by Dr. Joshi.
Dr. R.N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR, Hyderabad briefed about the Directorate’s salient achievements including the Future Flagship Research Programmes.
