Consultation Meeting on “Natural Farming” organized

The ICAR-Indian Institute of Soil Science, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh organized a Consultation Meeting with Shri Kamal Patel, Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh today.

Delivering his address, Shri Patel stressed on the need of natural farming in the State. The evaluation of the status of soil health in the tribal areas and strengthening of the agriculture system of the areas with labeling and certification of produce grown organically was emphasized by the Minister.

Earlier, Dr. Ashok K. Patra, Director, ICAR-IISS, Bhopal apprised the dignitaries about the Institute’s activities and achievements. The proposal for mapping of the microbial diversity in Madhya Pradesh that is vital for monitoring the soil health and supporting natural farming with scientific evidence was also underlined by Dr. Patra.

The Senior Officials of State Government Departments, ICAR Institutes and State Agricultural Universities also attended the Meeting aimed at appraising the potential of natural farming on productivity and soil health in Madhya Pradesh.
