24 September 2026, Hisar
As part of the ongoing Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign being organised under the theme “Swachhta Mein Sahbhag – Swachh Bharat, Viksit Bharat,” the ICAR–Central Institute for Research on Buffaloes, Hisar organised a Swachhata Samvad today. The programme was conducted as part of the Day-VIII Action Plan, which envisages Swachhata Samvad as a platform for dialogue and discussion to encourage active participation in cleanliness initiatives.
Around 20 participants took part in the interactive programme, which focused on creating awareness about cleanliness, hygiene and sustainable waste management. Moving beyond a conventional lecture-based format, the Samvad encouraged participants to openly share their experiences, observations and suggestions on practical cleanliness-related issues in their homes, workplaces and public spaces.
The discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining clean surroundings, preventing littering, responsible waste disposal, reducing plastic use and practising proper waste segregation. Participants also deliberated on simple and consistent behavioural changes that can contribute to cleaner and healthier surroundings.

The interactive session emphasised that cleanliness extends beyond sanitation activities and represents a shared social responsibility. Participants discussed how individual actions, including avoiding littering, minimising unnecessary plastic use, segregating waste and ensuring its proper disposal, can collectively contribute to sustainable cleanliness practices.
The programme also reinforced the spirit of Jan Bhagidari, encouraging participants to actively identify cleanliness-related challenges and explore practical solutions. Such participatory and dialogue-based initiatives help transform Swachhata from a campaign-driven activity into a sustained community practice.
The Swachhata Samvad concluded with a collective commitment to promote cleanliness, responsible waste management and sustainable habits in the participants’ respective surroundings. The Day-VIII activity reflected the spirit of “Swachhta Mein Sahbhag” by providing a platform for participants to listen, discuss, share experiences and collectively contribute towards building a cleaner and healthier society.
